Mikkel Kessler takes part in a Chinese film production
Former boxing World Champion, Mikkel Kessler will fly to Taipei at the end of June to participate in the film The Corner. Mikkel will play himself—a professional world-class boxer.
The cooperation agreement between Mikkel Kessler and China has been facilitated by Lifelong Learning and the production company ‘The World Film Co’, which is based in Chengdu.
The film is based on the authentic story of the boxer Wang Qiang, who suffers from cerebral palsy but still manages to become a professional boxer. The film will be shot from May through June in Taiwan and is estimated to be released internationally at the end of 2018. There will also be appearances from Chinese and Japanese boxers in the film, which will be distributed globally. The film is helping raise awareness of the disease, and 30% of the profits will go to the International Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
